Louisa National Wildlife Refuge is located in
Louisa County in Southeast Iowa |

Entry Fees:
$15/person for all ages in 3M and 5M races
$10/person for participants in Kids' Fun Run
(no late penalty but register early to be sure
to get the t-shirt size you want) |

Day Schedule:
7:30
Packet pickup begins

About the course:
The course is on a
scenic loop inside the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge. The 5 and 3-mile courses
loop past wetlands and other wildlife habitat, ending close to the start line. The Kids’ Fun Runs
are out and back. The course is flat (no hills) with a level, crushed rock
surface (there may also be some hard-packed dirt).
In case of
flooding in the refuge, the race will be held on County Road X61 with parking at
the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge headquarters parking lot. County Road
X61 is a flat, hard-surfaced road. Check this web site to see about changes to
the race course.
Port
Louisa National Wildlife Refuge is located in Louisa County, Iowa along the
Mississippi River.

& 3-Mile Age Group Awards:
First place winners for men and
women in each age
category for the 5- and 3-mile races will be awarded handcrafted suet feeders
(a new design each year). Each
Kids' Fun Run participant will receive a medal. NEW in 2007 -the overall male
and female winner of each race will be awarded a prize so a total of 16 prizes
will be given in each race. |

About Tri-Rivers
Conservation Foundation:
Proceeds from Running
Wild benefit
Tri-Rivers Conservation Foundation.
This private non-profit foundation
assists with conservation efforts in and near Louisa County through
collaboration with conservation agencies and organizations. Tri-Rivers projects include: Odessa Water Trail, Langwood and Chinkapin
Makeovers, Senior Citizen Field Trip series, Canoes for Langwood
,Virginia Grove playground and various workshops.
The Louisa Interpretive Center at
Langwood is in the planning stages and is this year’s designated project
for Running Wild proceeds. |
